Footer for Android moved to bottom (where it belongs I guess)
I was sitting outside and trying to find a solution to this silly problem. CSS fixed: is so inherently broken that nothing I did could stop it from obscuring content on the page. While the latest batch of code to the site did move it to a place that didn't hide any of the article it was still sitting there mocking me...
So while I sat I saw a pregnant woman walking down the street. She was very pregnant and I as I watched she held her hands across her belly. I remembered fondly watching my wife do this very same thing countless times while she was carrying James. As I looked inside I saw my wife and son sitting on the couch together, one sleeping, the other smiling at the laptop.
I thought, "Why am I wasting so many cycles on something so mundane?"
So I went inside and punched up a hack fix that relies on UA sniffing for Android and dropped the footer to the bottom of the page if this is the case. Then I went over to see what James was smiling at and woke up my wife so we could sit together as a family.
Sometimes you just need to take the simple solution...
As for the rest of the fixes. You should now be able to read much more comfortably on phones. The viewport used so there is no longer any side to side scrolling and I will finish cleaning up the way that the sidebar information is displayed lower on the screen.
But for now, I'll be sitting on the couch enjoying the rest of the evening.
Enjoy yours!
